The Flag, [ca. 1918]. Canada's long-retired and historically controversial Red Ensign - the flag replaced in 1965 when the Maple Leaf was first raised across the country - will make an official encore appearance at Friday's national remembrance commemoration marking the anniversary of the 1917 Battle of Vimy Ridge.
