Happy New Year!

To all of my fellow contributors here at The Torch whose work is so essential to the character of this blog, to all those at DND and the defence industry who have helped with our posts, to all those in government who have let us know how our writing has affected their decisions, to all those journalists who have asked our opinions and expressed their support, I wish a happy and prosperous new year.

But to all those of you who pay us the compliment of coming here every day and spending some of your precious time reading our musings about the Canadian Forces, an especially big thanks. It never ceases to amaze me the quality of the people who visit this blog.

And of course, to the men and women of the Canadian Forces who protect us with their very lives every day of every year: you have this Canadian's everlasting thanks and admiration.
