Peace activists at work?
Nice people:
Blue and yellow paint covered the personal items of a staffer at a military recruitment centre after vandals launched an early morning assault yesterday on the downtown office.
Military police were investigating the incident at the Canadian Forces recruitment office at 66 Slater St.
The office's windows were broken and paint was lobbed through the wreckage. Security noticed the damage around 4 a.m.
The manager of the recruitment centre said such incidents won't stop staff from working or people from coming in and asking about military careers.
"We just soldier on," Lieut. Ian Pacey said.
NO ARRESTS
Pacey said paint covered at least one cubicle. No one was injured and there was no word of any arrests.
Between 50 and 60 people work in the recruiting office, Pacey said.
It's the second time in a week the office has been targeted by vandals.
Anti-war protesters, who were focused on last week's CANSEC security and technology conference at the Ottawa Congress Centre, also paid a visit to the recruitment centre.
Police arrested one protester Thursday after a window was broken at that time.
