French Fighters to Kandahar

Not all that one would wish but certainly something; can you imagine the opposition uproar if our government said it was deploying CF-18s to Kandahar? The French are going to station six fighter jets with acombat mission at Kandahar, and increase by 150 their troops training the Afghan National Army at Kabul (h/t to Cameron Campbell).

As usual our media have not reported this though Paul Wells and Norman Spector noticed.

A good way to sell the idea of sending CF-18s to Afghanistan would be to stress that it would decrease chances of friendly fire incidents and also eliminate Afghan civilian casualties by having pilots more mindful of whom and what they are bombing.
When four Canadians were bombed on 18 April 2002, it was a clear case of a bozo just looking for any excuse to bomb anyone for the thrill of it. That incident prompted a public investigation because the victims were Canadian. How many innocent anonymous (to the foreign news media anyway) Afghans were killed under similar circumstances while no investigation was ever launched?
Here is an Iraqi example: watch this famous Apache killing video:
The Uncut video
The watch the analysis of the same video by an expert:
An analysis of the previous video

No investigation was ever launched, no charges were ever laid because the victims were not Canadian soldiers but farmers. How often does similar unreported events occur in Afghanistan with kill-minded American pilots?
CF-18s to Afghanistan? If it can avoid crimes like these, why not?
