Beached

This picture at the Combat Camera website vividly brings to mind images of whales being rescued in slings:

The HMCS Chicoutimi, following her journey from Halifax, is rolled off MV Tern at the Esquimalt Graving Dock adjacent to CFB Esquimalt. The removal of the sub from the deck of the transport ship took over 3 hours and involved over 2 dozen people. The submarine will be refitted by the Canadian Submarine Maintenance Group (CSMG).

Maybe the whale in the sling isn't the best comparison. It's more like getting a glimpse of an elderly patient's backside as he's moved from gurney to bed in the hospital: you get a bit embarrassed by the indignity of the situation.

All that to say I'm glad to hear HMCS Chicoutimi is getting fixed, but I'd much rather the next time I saw her, she was in the water again.
