A former senior American diplomat takes on Ambassador Richard Holbrooke [more here] and Lieutenant-General Karl Eikenberry for misunderstanding and undermining the counter-narcotics program (which has had some successes). He wonders to whom exactly Mr Holbrooke is responsible, and he also takes on elements of the administration for undermining President Karzai.
