A xenophobic media strategy does nothing to help the military that this government professes to support. It's been noted here before that using operational security or national defence caveats to cloak everything in secrecy does nothing to help the military's cause. Using a bureaucratic system of delay is just as bad, if not worse. Some reporters actually work hard to gain a better understanding of the military and to present a fair and balanced story. I admit, they may be few and far between in Canada, but they are there. Making the job of a reporter more difficult just because you can probably isn't the best media strategy ever dreamed up.
