Built when my mom was in primary school

When Jean Chretien says he's proud of his time in politics, I wonder if his memory even touches upon things like this?

I wonder if he has a conscience left to twinge when he looks in the mirror?

I remember a fake CF enrolment poster. It went something like this: "Would you like to know what flying a Sea King was like? No need to ask your grand-father. Enrol in the CF and try one yourself"

I must be missing something here. To me, the article describes an incident that was directly and entirely attributable to the failure of the crew to mix methanol into the de-salting spray.

Is there any reason to think that this wouldn't have happened with newer helicopters?

The investigation is continuing because the reason for the engine fires is still unknown. There are probably several results to be expected when fresh water (vice water/methanol) is sprayed into a running engine, an engine fire is generally not one of them. "Directly and entirely attributable" is not correct as the article only quotes that one common cause for the two fires. It does not quote evidence as to exclusivity.

As to your last question, no. However, such investigations generally consider the age and usage of the aircraft as possible contributory factors in the accidents.

Cheers
