Filthy media vultures
That's Lise Marcil, mother of recent casualty Gunner Jonathan Dion. The headline gives the impression that maybe she has something to say about the mission, or her son's death, but surprise surprise, neither she nor any individual family member is quoted anywhere in said article. The closest they come to it is this:
In a statement Monday, family members said Dion loved being a soldier and served his country "with honour and pride alongside his brothers in arms in Afghanistan."
Family members, who made no public remarks Wednesday, were escorted into a black limousine to accompany Dion's body to Toronto.
Does that sound like "crying out" to you? The whole thing is just a disgusting bait-and-switch to get you to see the photo of a grief-stricken mother.
Nice one, Gregory Bonnell of the Canadian Press. You and your editor are a class act.

Well said. The Sun Media group is usually pretty supportive of things military, but every once in a while their cheap, tabloid roots reveal themselves with tawdry efforts like these.
Guys I'm a francophone, and like some people already pointed out on this forum, my English spelling sucks. However, after reading this post, I went for my dictionary. There a a dozen definitions for "To Cry Out" but here are the top two definitions two that are listed:
To Cry Out:
1. to utter inarticulate sounds, esp. of lamentation, grief, or suffering, usually with tears.
2. to weep; shed tears, with or without sound.
Now read that article again and tell me where the problem is.
Now since the author of this post clearly has a problem with definitions, here is another definition:
gleeful : full of exultant joy; merry; delighted.
Now read the article again.
I think you have a major problem
I think we'll just have to differ about where the "major problem" lies, taxpayer.
I love the way you guys criticize the "media's gleeful Canadian-soldier-deathwatch" right next to a numbered list of everybody that's died.
Oh sorry I guess your listing of the dead is different than that of the blood-hungry "MSM" - more honorable, more dignified, etc. etc.
Class act guys, but sadly you're no different than those you think you're better than.
