Gen. Hillier as CDS

A topic thread at Milnet.ca.

From Norman's Spectator:
--A great moment in Canadian journalism (if you read to the end)

Won't be silenced, defence chief says (Star)

Speaking to reporters, Hillier denied his relationship with the Harper government had become frosty, and said he and Defence Minister Peter MacKay "have spoken numerous times," including after yesterday's rocket attack at a forward operating base MacKay was visiting.

"I don't think there's two or three people in the country who have a greater shared understanding of what Canada has to do as myself and our minister," he told reporters after the speech.

Still, he said that he always tries to be careful about what he says in public for fear his words will be twisted out of context.
A very clever fellow, our Norman. Hooah.
