Poppy Sales

What really surprises me is that banning Poppy sales at various retail locations still pops up as an issue each year. H/T to Home Depot for quickly correcting the mistake.
Poppy campaign invited back to store

A manager at the east Windsor Home Depot quickly moved Sunday to invite the Royal Canadian Legion poppy campaign back to his store, after learning three women were told on Friday they couldn't sell poppies there.

The women say they were told by a supervisor it was against store policy for any organizations to solicit on Home Depot property. By Saturday, anger was building among legion members like Larry Costello, 82, the service officer for the Windsor-area zone of legions. Saturday, he said: "Without the veterans, and the poppies, they wouldn't have the freedom they have today."

Poppies should be sold anywhere that they can be, but honestly that "you wouldn't have your freedom" line needs to be let go

I agree, poppies should be sold everywhere, but what about joining the Legion to support Veterans? I just joined and found out that I am the only Ordinary applicant this year.

Sorry, I should have said, "the only Ordinary applicant at my branch".
