What if the UN asked for Canadian military help?

Does anyone think Canada could provide CF-18s for combat close air support in response to Kofi Annan's request?

That would depend on whether or not our CF-18s have the operational range to work from our, or a US base in the Middle East. Since the US is in the process of shutting down most, if not all, of their air bases in Saudi Arabia and our's is over on the Gulf side it might not be possible. If on the other hand, the US air base near Jeddah is still up and running then it should be possible.
