A tale of two $2 billions

A front page, top of the fold, headline: Cost of Afghan mission: $2B and rising.

The story reports that is the cost since 2001, so not quite the shocker the headline implies, especially as a headline-only reader might just think the cost was for the current Kandahar mission alone.

Then we have this story also in today's Ottawa Citizen, on p. A6, Space station given top priority, in which it is reported that "...the high-flying station, which has cost Canadian taxpayers almost $2 billion to date..."

I wonder why that $2 billion is not in the headline. And why that headline would not be on page 1.

The Liberal party sucked away 10 $Billion of our revenues.

[Documented by NDP Nationally distributed advertising flyer... no law-suit, no rebuttal.]

2 $Billion is nothing to allow all those who have risked their lives and purple fingers to vote for a peaceful and more fair government, to survive.

If Iran wins in it's bid to destabilize Afghanistan and Iraq, then you can be sure that trend will be followed in Indonesia by the 220 million Muslems who live there and the 100 million in India to begin with.

There are vast numbers of Muslems in Asia and Africa.

Only a small number of Jihadists are active in Indonesia. India is free of Jihadism for the moment.

Failing in Afghanistan is simply out of the question. TG
