"Soldiers. In Our Schools."

From Publius at Dust my Broom (the other place where I blog):
Quebec union and student groups don't like military recruiters (whatever the semantics) in high schools. Hmmm...

"We're not against a military career," said Xavier Lefebvre Boucher, head of the Fédération étudiante collégiale du Québec, which represents 21 CEGEP student associations in the province. "What we simply say is get out of our schools."

Dogs off the grass ... and Soldiers out of the school.

I'm going to take a wild guess that M. Lefebre holds what most of us would call a very "progressive" social and political outlook, including, shall we say, a disdain of things and people military. I'll take a further guess that it has never occurred to him to serve his Country in uniform.

I served in the USAF during the tail end of the Vietnam War and had occasion then and subsequently to meet people of that type. I can't say I found them to my liking.
