"Taliban Soldier Song"
Can anyone fairly definitively identify which country's soldiers are singing (i.e. the weapon below and on the left later in the video)?
Babbler's Update: NSFW language warning, and if you're anyplace where the PC police get uppity, you might want to watch it when you get home and the kids are already tucked into bed. Having said that, some of the lyrics are hilarious.

Receiver doesn't look right for a C9.
My money is on some variant of FN MAG/M240. This is a dead ringer for the squad weapon in the video (see it at 1:09 for a good oblique side profile).
Otherwise known as the C6 locally. I forgot we had them too. =)
It appears the leftist PC crowd at YouTube have struck again. I repeatedly get the message "An error occurred, please try again later." I'd bet a beer that some PC weenie complained and got it yanked.

Someone else with knowledge votes for the C6 or another country's equivalent.

Heh, it's absolutely, 100% NOT the C9. Any infanteer will tell you that much. It's also not any of the more common variants of the American M240 - they're essentially the same weapon as the C6, but there are some slight and not so slight variations depending on the model.
If it's American, then it would have to be the M240-G, which is mainly used by the marines. However, even the G looks a bit different than the weapon pictured in the video, so I'd be willing to wager a day's pay on it being the C6.
The fact that the guys don't have Yank accents also tends to point in that direction :)
Here, I even found a (very) old pic of me carrying one on a training ex. So now you know what it looks like from the other side :) Just pretend there isn't a big yellow BFA on the muzzle ...

Your analysis of the Afghan conflict has been excellent - I think any combat unit would have been lucky to have you as an officer. Not knowing the difference between weapons systems is insignificant considering the work you do here. Keep it up!
Alex: Before doing the post I did some Googling to see what looked most like the weapon in the video.
Havie never been in the military but have done some, er, analysis.
Will do one's best to "keep it up".
