Gee Whiz! Canadian Sea King "battle taxis" at KAFstan!

Ace reporter Jessica "Gee Whiz!" Leeder of the Globe and Mail returns to Afstan, still showing important gaps in knowledge:
...
The creature comforts that this base has become famous for among military types (they call it KAFstan, because it often feels like a bubble-protected country within the broader country) have grown as well...

...Before the Canadian Chinook helicopters arrived a few months ago, our only means of travelling off base was the heavily reinforced armoured vehicles that convoy over IED-prone roadways to rural outposts. The threat of an IED strike could delay our travel for hours or days, placing another layer of strain on us, and of course, our soldiers.

Now, for the most part, our new battle taxis are Sea Kings and Chinooks! It's far from a perfect world. But things are literally looking up.
Somehow I suspect Ms. Leader in unaware of the real Sea King "battle taxis" in Afstan, Royal Navy Commando Helicopter Force Sea Kings from 845 and 846 Naval Air Squadrons:

Could have been worse. Our fearless cub reporter could have called it a tank . . . for some of the soft fuzzy-wuzzy warm comfy fur crew if it moves and is painted FSOD it must be a tank.

She has come a long way in my opinion. Being able to identify a helicopter is big achievement for a downtown Torrana girl.

She is now qualified to work for the CBC reporting on NDP Defense Policy.
