Toronto Turns Out

Over 1200 people turned out for the Annual Toronto Officers' Garrison ball, raising $250,000.00 for Op Building Bridges which will provide funds to build two hospitals in Afghanistan.

Sounds like Hillier had the best line of the night (at least if you're a Habs fan like me!):

General Hillier later joked to a crowd of hangers-on about the time the Stanley Cup paid a visit to troops stationed in the Middle East. "The Taliban's gotten closer to the Stanley Cup than the Leafs," he noted to jeers and cheers, the latter surely from the capital representation.

Now that's funny!
