Polish plans for Afstan

Looks like, other than the two helicopters for Kandahar, they will continue concentrating on working with the US in Regional Command East. Plus some special forces who are working with our troops (nice of the Poles, rather than the CF/DND, to tell us that). A point worth noting from General Franciszek Gagor, Chief of the General Staff, Polish Armed Forces:...
By having the Polish troops – which operate without any caveats – NATO commanders have the necessary operational and tactical flexibility...
Some of the things General Gagor says sound right out of the Manley panel report--helicopters and UAVs. More on Chinooks for the Canadian Air Force here.

Maybe this wasn't made public by DND for reasons of operational security. I know the UK, Australia, New Zealand -and usually the US- are pretty tight-lipped about all Special Forces operations.

Allied Intelligence agencies know that our Islamist foes, Al Qaeda, the Taliban and their supporters and funders, follow the Western media closely. As the WW2 motto went, "Loose lips sink ships." The public of Allied nations don't need to know any specifics of Special Forces operations, other than that in general, all active combatant Allied nations are making heavy and very effective use of Special Forces.
