More on CF training the ANA at Kandahar

A June 29 story from the Polish ISAF contingent (a Torch reader provided the translation below):
Validation of Canadian Operational Mentoring Liaison Team

2007-06-29 10:51:45

On Tuesday, June 27, in Kandahar, South Afghanistan, a validation--
that is, a certification of satisfaction of formal requirements--of
Canadian Operational Mentoring Liaison Team - took place.
The OMLT has been assigned to a command of one of the brigades of
205th ANA Corps.

On July 26, a validation team went to Kandahar to perform the final
confirmation of the OMLT readiness, based on their training and
courses. On Wednesday, during a video-conference between ISAF Command
and Regional Command South, a decision was taken that the OMLT
satisfies the requirements and may begin operations in its region of
responsibility.

Participants: Brigadier Wojciech Grabowski, a Deputy Commander of
Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan [US-led, in charge of re-forming and building both the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police (ANP)]; Brigadier Tarik Ozkut, a representative of ISAF Commander; Lt-Col Braddock, a Chief of Staff of Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix [US-led group outside ISAF training the ANA--check the countries involved] ; representatives of CSTC-A, ISAF and Lt-Col Eyre, a Commander of Canadian OMLT.

After confirmation, the Canadians will officially begin their operations in Kandahar region; i.e., in their region of responsibility.
