I disagree with the first half of that column, but the second half is spot on.
Taliban Jack has also forgotten--if he ever knew--the 1975 outcome in Saigon of the peace process that led to the 1973 Paris Accords.

You aren't.
Please stop.
Jacko's knowledge of history is about as comprehensive as his understanding of economics.
But when you are blinded by a Peace at any Cost mindset, you need to be able to rationalize real history through the rose coloured glasses of idealistic socialism.
The real question for Jack and all the other Progressive Ilk is - why are they willing to sacrifice so many innocent Afghani women, children, gays and other minorities to death at the brutal hands of the Taliban's 13th century thugocracy ?
The NDP claims to stand up for these people in Canada. Why not in Afghanistan ?
Are the Afghanis not good enough for the NDP ?
And somebody should tell Jack that the Afghan mission is NOT "George Bush's War" . . it is a UN Security Council mission.
I thought the NDP were big supporters of the UN ??
