The Globe and Mail is blunter:
"Canada rejects UN request to lead Congo mission"
Yet more on the good reasons to avoid this operation:
"Top UN man in DR Congo mission as unrest escalates
The UN's top humanitarian official has flown into the troubled Democratic Republic of Congo as armed groups continue to spread insecurity."
No "tradtional" peacekeeping of the sort with which Canadians are so enamoured in prospect there.
