My son recently returned from Afghanistan, where he did a 10 month tour with the Canadian Forces. He did up a 3 part photo essay which can be found at Cjunk. Due to restrictions there is a lot that can't be photographed, so he tried to include pictures of things that journalists generally may not focus on:
