Oh, man. Me too. The tears. My dad and his brother signed up in Regina and shipped the minute WWII broke and was Camp Shilo shortly after. They both came back, thanks be to God. My dad was 36 when he enlisted and his brother was 40. It amazes me still that men that old would want to enlist and even more so, that they were accepted.

I missed joining the Rangers at 55 by a few months. I would have been the oldest re-up new recruit in basic. Y'know, the smiling one.
