Steady Eddie Greenspon's urge for journalistic "glory"

Something I've been saying for some time:
...
Much of the Globe and Mail's recent slanted coverage of Afghanistan can be traced to their editor in chief [Edward Greenspon], who has decided some time ago that Afghanistan was going to be Canada's Vietnam and is not about to let inconvenient facts dissuade him...
The whole comment, by an experienced reservist reporter, makes points Babbling has for some time. As for Steady Eddie Greenspon:
Afstan: more misleading "reporting" from the Globe and Mail

Eddie the Ego: Up to no good?

Afstan: Steady Eddie Greenspon spins--and does not squirm
The second post above deals with Vietnam. I think the last post listed may be relevant to Mr Greenspon's, er, mission.

Don't ya know . . Steady Eddie is just sooooooo much smarter than us ordinary folks. His global perspective from downtown Toronto is just so clear that he feels justified in imposing his personal foreign policy beliefs on the rest of Canada.

He can do consider damage to Canada from his editorial perch, but thank goodness he isn't smart enough to get elected and really inflict foreign policy pain on the country. We'll let the good Prof Byers, another one of the ohhh sooo smarty pants set to attempt to get to parliament via the next election. If he is successful, he will be limited to talking head points as he is running for the terminally last place NDP.

Steady Eddie may be taken seriously in some downtown venues but is largely ignored by the rest of the country.

And the country is better for it.

Much better.

Don't buy the Globe and Mail and once a week send a letter to one of their advertisers expressing your concerns about impacts on your buying habits the editorial policy Steady Eddie is having.
