Any blunt object at hand
I find it odd that, for an article that sensationalizes unproven allegations of Canadian soldiers abusing detainees in Afghanistan, the Globe and Mail would use this photo as an accompanying illustration.
Odd, because the photographer who snapped the shot stated in a May 12th, 2006 Canadian Press piece that the CF personnel with whom he was embedded at the time treated the prisoners well.
Of course, that angle wouldn't sell any advertising space at all, now would it?

"I saw no evidence of mistreatment," McHugh said. "They were given water. Nobody was shoved around or manhandled."
