UN Security Council wants NATO ISAF strengthened

From the UN News Centre: "Security Council approves extension of security force’s [ISAF] mandate in Afghanistan". I wonder how much play this is the story will get in the Canadian media:
In a unanimously adopted resolution, Council members also called on UN Member States to contribute greater personnel, equipment and funding so that the force can be more effective.
Full text of resolution is here.

By the way, at least the Daily Telegraph is recognizing the Canadian contribution in Afstan:
Five years on, only America, Britain, Canada and Holland are in the frontline of the battle against a resurgent Taliban in the southern provinces of Helmand, Kandahar and Uruzgan...
Update: As far as I can see the story about the UNSC resolution got amost no coverage in the Canadian media. No wonder our public debate about the Afstan mission is so ill-informed. And the call for greater equipment would certainly seem a good reason to send the Leopards--after all the French are sending Leclercs to Lebanon (details on Leclerc here).
